Job Summary
Lead contract negotiations for Balance of Plant and Balance of Systems, managing exhibits with subject matter experts and collaborating with Engineering, Construction, Development, and Legal teams to ensure appropriate attention to key terms. Develop and improve contract templates while offering intelligent recommendations on negotiating positions and contractual considerations. Support Construction and Operations teams post-signature to ensure contract understanding and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop systems and tools to drive efficiency in procurement and contracts work. This role impacts Scout's long-term ability to power the energy transition across utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage. You will join the Procurement team to support explosive portfolio growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of BOP/BOS contract or related experience
- Negotiating strength and aptitude
- Technical aptitude: ability to understand technical and quantitative issues
- Previous experience conducting complex contract negotiations
- Ability to concisely frame issues by providing context, analysis, recommendations, and risk/benefit trade offs, both in written, verbal, and presentation format
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Independent learner who can quickly apply lessons learned in one area to all other work areas
- Strong organizational skills with process orientation and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and deliver top-quality work product in multiple areas without direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties
- Self-motivator with exceptional leadership and communication skills
- Experience using influence rather than authority to achieve desired outcomes
- Authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in legal, business, or related fields
- preferably with utility-scale wind, solar, and/or battery storage
- willingness to coach other Scout team members in negotiating and contract improvements
- Previous deal leadership
