Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of Sterile Processing in Bend and Redmond, managing decontamination, tray assembly, sterile processing, storage, and distribution of instruments to perioperative areas, respiratory therapy, emergency departments, and nursing floors. Develop comprehensive departmental orientation for new staff, coordinate training and competency validation, and ensure all work meets technical and safety standards. Collaborate with Infection Prevention and Quality teams to maintain regulatory compliance with CMS, TJC, AAMI, and AORN while implementing continuous process improvement methodologies. Direct performance of direct reports, manage budgets, and ensure workflow efficiency through Lean principles. Schedule: 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in related field
- Current CST, CRCST, CBSPD or Oregon nursing license
- 3 years of experience in Sterile Processing or a related field
- 5 years of experience in health care institution
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of the industry
- Proven interpersonal skills
- Solid communication
- High drive and energy
- Ability to build relationships within a facility
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely
- Continually (75% or more): Standing, walking, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling 1-10 pounds, grasping/squeezing, Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level
