Job Summary
Oversee 24/7 operations of the Sterile Processing Department, including direct supervision of single shift supervisors and all FTEs. Develop and maintain policies for handling, sterilization, cleaning, and storage of patient care supplies and equipment. Monitor inventory levels, establish par levels, and initiate purchases to ensure adequate availability of treatment materials. Evaluate service delivery systems, recommend efficiency improvements, and implement new decontamination and sterilization methods. Administer employee recruitment, evaluations, growth, and development while managing scheduling and training programs. Lead hospital committees, oversee quality monitoring data collection, and ensure compliance with external standards and regulations. Maintain sensitive administrative and financial records and prepare necessary reports.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of two years of occupationally specific education or associate's degree
- Area of study: Surgical Technology, Central Process or a closely related field
- 7 years' experience as a sterile processing technician
- Three years of supervisory experience
- Current certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
