Job Summary
Manager/Sr. Manager of Accounting responsible for leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, owning and improving the billing process (usage-based model) with ASC 606 revenue recognition, and driving ERP evaluation/implementation. Key duties include managing accounts payable, vendor contracts, and treasury; coordinating external tax advisors for federal/state filings; building a scalable chart of accounts across R&D, S&M, and G&A; developing procurement processes; hiring and shaping the accounting function; and preparing the company for its first external audit. The role requires in-office presence in Dogpatch, SF, and emphasizes autonomy in designing finance processes, automation of workflows with AI tooling, and strong communication and ownership.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including 3+ years in Big 4 and 2+ years in private tech
- CPA strongly preferred (inactive acceptable)
- Deep command of US GAAP and ASC 606
- Experience owning usage-based billing and ERP implementations
- Preparation for external audits
