Job Summary
Establish regional governance and oversight of import/export and customs compliance activities across North American entities. Implement and localize global trade compliance policies, monitor performance, and identify risks to drive continuous improvement. Define standards for customs brokerage, recordkeeping, and HTS classification while overseeing controls for transaction validation and duty payments. Prepare metrics and incident reports for leadership, support internal and external audits, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Provide functional leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to Trade Compliance personnel, fostering alignment among North American entities. This role serves as the regional subject matter expert for all import, export, and customs compliance activities across Kubota's North American group companies, ensuring execution aligns with U.S. regulations and global policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field
- 7–10 years of experience in trade compliance or a similar role
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem‐solving ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with a global trade management platform (e.g., Integration Point / Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Global Trade, SAP GTS)
- SAP
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience overseeing import/export compliance execution in North America
- Extensive knowledge of import regulations (CTPAT, FTAs, USMCA, EPA, ISF)
- Working knowledge of U.S. export controls (EAR/ITAR), ECCN classification, and restricted-party/sanctions screening
- Practical experience supporting FTZ operations and related controls
- Strong knowledge of HTS classification and INCOTERMS
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multi‐entity organization
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed Customs Broker
- Experience working within a regional or global compliance governance structure
- Understanding of warehouse operations
