Job Summary

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, integrating them into the curriculum while collaborating with teachers and parents. Provide comprehensive in-class support to faculty, including SDI and MLL instruction, and lead data-informed sessions to analyze student metrics for instructional improvement. Facilitate IEP meetings, coordinate related service providers, and maintain accurate documentation for 504s, ELLs, and referrals. Create and oversee professional development plans to enhance instructional practices and ensure legal compliance with the Committee on Special Education.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • New York State Certification

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience in a Transfer School
  • Google Applications proficiency
  • knowledgeable in the use of SESIS
  • Ability to create multi-tiered classroom structures and behavior plans to address multiple disabilities (ED, LD, OHI, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to 'multi-task' and deliver high quality work
  • Commitment to the UD Team mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication
  • Commitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issues
  • Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently
