Job Summary
The Engineer will evaluate existing elevator systems and design modernization and retrofit packages to improve performance, safety, reliability, and energy efficiency. Responsibilities include conducting detailed site surveys and technical audits, analyzing system performance and safety gaps, defining modernization scope (control systems, drives, motors, doors, safety components, interfaces), developing retrofit proposals with drawings and BOMs, supporting cost estimation and risk assessment, ensuring compliance with elevator codes and standards, collaborating with sales, installation, manufacturing, and service teams, providing technical clarifications to customers and stakeholders, supporting pre-sales and handovers, assisting installation teams during modernization, and participating in testing, commissioning, and acceptance of upgraded elevators. Preferred qualifications include a BE in Electronics/Electrical Engineering and 8–12 years of relevant experience; strong knowledge of elevator technologies, safety codes, ability to read technical drawings, CAD tools familiarity, and excellent communication and project-management skills. Required Qualifications
- B.E./BE in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- 8-12 years in elevator engineering/modernization/retrofit
- Strong understanding of elevator technologies and safety codes
- Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
Desired Qualifications
- B.E. – Electronics / Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- 8 ~ 12 years of experience in elevator engineering, modernization, retrofit projects, or vertical transportation systems
- Hands-on exposure to elevator subsystems such as controllers, drives, motors, door systems, safety devices, and signalling systems is preferred
- Strong understanding of elevator technologies and modernization practices
- Knowledge of elevator safety codes and standards (e.g., EN, IS, ASME – as applicable)
- Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Proficiency in MS Office; exposure to CAD tools is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused with good communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple modernization projects simultaneously
- Team-oriented mindset with ability to coordinate across functions
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
