Job Summary
Analyze software cost models and present recommendations to stakeholders while leading negotiations for large-scale agreements. Strategize with business and technical owners to clarify organizational needs and guide cross-functional teams to develop requirements for supplier responses. Research reliable sources of supply and leverage market knowledge to drive selection through formal processes like RFP, RFQ, and RFI. Evaluate supplier financial stability and perform business analysis focused on total cost of ownership to recommend strategic purchasing decisions. Pursue cost savings opportunities and oversee supplier performance as an escalation point when necessary. Develop and communicate strategic category plans to align with business objectives and manage change adoption.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years procurement contract negotiation and contract management experience
- 1+ year electronic procurement or contract solutions experience
- Knowledge of software and related services including perpetual, term and subscription agreements, maintenance and support and other IT products
- Strong understanding of software contract terms and conditions
- Familiarity with software and IT terminology
- Proven negotiating skills with adaptability
- Ability to prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and writing skills
- Leadership skills to supervise and motivate others
- Decision-making and problem-solving under pressure
- Initiative and sound judgment to accomplish job duties
- Internal stakeholder management skills with the capacity to build trust and deliver solutions
- Knowledge of the P2P process and ability to identify solutions for spend categories
