Job Summary
Seasoned engineering leader to support and grow the Search & Recommendations team at Figma, partnering with product engineering, infrastructure, data science, and product management to deliver cutting-edge AI features. Own the team’s technical strategy, roadmap, and goals, while rolling up sleeves to improve execution and hiring/career development. Build an inclusive, diverse team and culture through programs and partnerships. The role emphasizes leading high-performing teams, scaling AI systems, and delivering robust search/recommendation capabilities across Figma’s ecosystem. Remote work within the United States is supported alongside US hubs; strong preference for experience in AI infra, model development, and ranking/retrieval systems and comfort working across cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performing, fast-moving teams, ideally in the AI space.
- 8+ years of total engineering experience, ideally reaching a staff engineering level as an individual contributor.
- Prior experience building search, recommendation, or AI systems as an engineering manager or individual contributor.
- A proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding experienced AI engineering leads.
