Job Summary
Lead and shape Affirm's resilience engineering practice as an Engineering Manager, focusing on production load testing and chaos engineering to ensure safety and reliability of production systems. Drive the design and evolution of platforms and tooling that enable safe production experimentation, mentor a team of engineers, partner with infrastructure, product, and security leadership to embed resilience validation into the SDLC, and establish best practices for testing system limits and failure scenarios with robust safeguards, observability, and incident response. Evangelize a culture of "test failure before failure tests you" and enable teams with reusable tooling, standardized workflows, and guardrails to improve reliability and fault tolerance across distributed systems in cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes).
