Job Summary
As an Engineering Manager in the Optimize team, you will manage a team of 4-10 engineers, coaching and overseeing performance, while staying hands-on with technical design and deliverables. You will build strong relationships across teams to improve collaboration, and contribute to all aspects of the employee life-cycle including recruitment and mentoring. Required skills include 5+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in management, expertise in cloud technologies like AWS, and proficiency in Python or Golang. You will drive initiatives in automation and incident response while ensuring team accountability and high-quality delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a software/systems/performance engineer or in a role directly supporting engineering teams
- 3+ years experience managing an engineering team
- Expertise cloud computing with a particular focus on AWS technologies
- Experience working with Python or Golang
- Good understanding of DevOps practices and automation
- Expertise in project management, prioritization frameworks, and guiding investment strategies in people and systems
- Experience delivering both multi-month projects and short, targeted engagements, establishing clear deliverables and reporting on progress
- Experience collaborating across multiple teams and prioritizing work efforts
- Familiarity with infrastructure services, distributed systems, microservices, and software design at high scale.
