Job Summary
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers in Denmark, providing regular feedback, career development, and performance guidance. Own the delivery of the team's roadmap, balancing feature development, quality, and technical debt while partnering with product management and design to shape priorities. Set and uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, architecture, and operational excellence, actively participating in technical decision-making and hiring to scale the team. Manage project risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination to ensure predictable delivery, reporting progress to engineering leadership and stakeholders. Based in Denmark with EU work authorization required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years directly managing engineers
- A track record of leading teams that consistently deliver high-quality software on schedule
- Strong technical background with the ability to engage credibly in architecture and design discussions
- Experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers at different levels of seniority
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design
- Sound judgment in balancing technical excellence, delivery timelines, and team wellbeing
- Experience with modern software development practices, including CI/CD, code review, and automated testing
- Based in Denmark or willing to work from our Denmark location
- Authorization to work in the EU
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing teams in aviation, geospatial, or other safety-critical, data-intensive domains
- Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones, particularly spanning Europe and the US
- Background in front-end, backend, or full-stack engineering prior to moving into management
- Familiarity with scaling engineering teams and processes during periods of growth
- Interest in aviation or flight operations
