Manager, Software Engineering - Connected Applications Quality

Job Summary
Lead a software quality and automation team for connected applications in GM's digital vehicle ecosystem, defining quality strategy, driving test planning and execution, building automation, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure launch readiness and high-quality customer-facing software experiences across multiple programs. The role requires strong technical leadership in software quality, validation, and automation, mentoring and developing engineers, and the ability to navigate ambiguous scopes and shifting requirements. Located in Warren, MI with hybrid work arrangement (reporting to the location three times per week) and travel <25%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in software quality, validation, test automation, or software development.
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing technical teams.
- Experience leading quality efforts for customer-facing software systems across development, integration, and validation environments.
- Working knowledge of software test planning, defect management, automation frameworks, and release-readiness practices.
- Experience collaborating across software development, product, systems, and program teams.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including the ability to understand complex systems, make sound decisions, and explain tradeoffs clearly.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills in fast-moving environments with competing demands.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, remove roadblocks, and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.
