Job Summary
Engineering Manager leads software engineering teams, overseeing Agile Product Owner responsibilities and development efforts across 10-20 engineers. Responsibilities include assigning developers to contracts and tasks, guiding backlog grooming, standups, and retrospectives; ensuring adherence to software development processes and quality standards; identifying staffing and tool needs; staffing and manpower planning; performance evaluations; career development; and providing status updates to senior leadership. Requires ability to obtain/maintain a government secret clearance and US citizenship; Bachelor’s degree (engineering/CS/math/physics) with technical management experience, with Master’s strongly preferred; 5-7 years of technical management experience and Navy Aegis IAMD background preferred. Role is located in Huntsville, AL and is an on-site position with no remote option specified.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics (with technical management experience) or equivalent related work experience
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline or math strongly preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance; US Citizenship required
- Successful applicant must obtain and maintain required security clearance or authorization within contract requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of technical management experience
- Prior experience with US Navy Aegis IAMD (Integrated Air and Missile Defense)
