Job Summary
Lead a team of configuration and data management engineers and analysts, defining and improving Software and Hardware CM practices across Lunar Permanence programs. Serve as a discipline lead owning policies, processes, tools, and training while ensuring rigor across the development lifecycle for both software and hardware systems. Manage software configurations, baselines, and change control boards, and oversee hardware identification, BOM structures, and physical audits. Embed CM best practices into engineering, manufacturing, and safety teams, and lead cross-functional integration activities for avionics and EEE systems.
Required Qualifications

- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM discipline
- 8+ years of proven experience in aerospace, medical devices, automotive, or other related industries
- 5+ years leading technical teams and/or functional groups with responsibility for career management of employees
- 5+ years of hands-on software configuration management experience in a technical environment
- Deep understanding of Software Configuration Management principles, concepts, and implementation within aerospace or aviation domains
- Experience with the software development lifecycle and associated configuration management processes used for highly integrated and sophisticated products
- Proven software configuration control experience on recently developed products from early trade studies through final design and into manufacturing, testing, maintenance, and sustaining
- Familiarity with DO-178C (or B) and DO-254
- Experience with software configuration identification, baselines, and release processes, as well as problem reporting — including tracking of problem reports against specific baselines and releases
- Experience managing multiple configuration variants of a common design baseline
- Experience managing software design changes with varying effectivity across multiple products
- Demonstrated proficiency with version control systems and change management/agile planning tools such as GitLab, Jira, Artifactory, ClearCase or Rational Suite, Jenkins, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of software configuration management technologies and software build and release management, including IT infrastructure and development/scripting
- Proficiency with both Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
- Experience with hardware configuration identification, including part numbering, BOM management, and drawing control for complex aerospace systems
- Experience establishing and managing hardware configuration baselines (functional, allocated, and product) and leading baseline transitions across the program lifecycle
- Experience managing hardware change control processes, including CRs, CNs, deviations, and waivers
- Experience managing hardware release and effectivity across multiple vehicle or product configurations
- Experience with the principles, concepts, and methods of systems engineering and configuration management of complex aerospace systems, including export control (EAR/ITAR) regulations
- General Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to the culture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate across organizational boundaries
Desired Qualifications
- B.E. and Master's degree
- CMII certification and deep understanding of EIA-649TM Rev. C
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, GitFlow workflows, and DevOps and Agile methodologies
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages: Python, Shell, Perl, Ruby, Batch, or YAML
- Background in database administration and SWCM tool administration
- Archival and retrieval of historical releases; traceability between software and hardware artifacts
- Experience planning and executing Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) and Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs)
- Experience developing and managing a varied set of CM principles, practices, and programs across both software and hardware domains
- Experience with avionics software and hardware integration, including configuration management of EEE parts, flight software, and embedded systems across the full hardware/software integration lifecycle
- Experience with PTC Windchill PLM tools, Agile PLM, or Teamcenter
- Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with agile project management
- Experience with space vehicle design, development, and test
- Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management, and Cost Account Management (e.g., EVM)
- Experience managing subcontracts
