Job Summary
Manager, Shipping and Receiving responsible for managing the Bay City plant’s in-house transportation fleet (5 drivers) and coordinating with common carriers. Key duties include developing productive shipping and trucking schedules, monitoring transportation records (driver logs, fuel receipts, vehicle maintenance), delivering world-class customer service on delivery status, optimizing truck routes and stops, creating department budgets and SOPs, recruiting and coaching transportation staff, collaborating with branch leadership, and ensuring a safe work environment with DOT compliance. Requires 2+ years in a supervisory role and an associate degree in logistics or related field (or equivalent experience). Proficiency in Microsoft Office; NetSuite/Dispatch Track a plus. Full-time role with a salary target of $55,000-$60,000 plus bonus and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Two years in a management/supervisory role
- Associate degree in logistics or related field or two years equivalent transportation supervision/management experience
- Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) rules and regulations
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software platforms
