Job Summary
Lead and support the structure, negotiation, and execution of project financing structures including tax equity and non-recourse debt; contribute to M&A due diligence, financial valuation, and capital-structure optimization; develop financial models for capital raising and acquisition financing; prepare investor and lender presentations and coordinate with stakeholders to drive timely closings; produce periodic management reports and monitor financial risks with mitigations; collaborate across functional areas under the Director, Capital Markets; requires a graduate or undergraduate degree in finance/economics-related field and 5+ years in project finance or related sectors; strong Excel skills and familiarity with solar/wind/energy storage financing structures; CFA (preferred).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate or Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or related
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience in project finance, leveraged finance, M&A or renewable energy business development
- Project finance modelling skills and experience – renewable energy specifically is a plus
- Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Execution focused mindset with a high level of initiative
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative working relationships across multiple functional areas in the organization
- Progression within previous roles and demonstrated advancement with growing responsibilities
- Familiarity with solar, wind, battery energy storage or other PTC- or ITC-enabling technologies
- Fluency in financing structures such as PTCs, ITCs, tax credit transfers, back- and front-leverage structures, fixed income or long-tenor bond products
- Experience in value-creation and developing/negotiating financing and capital structures to optimize sponsor economics and in value-creation, experience in appraisal concepts (i.e. FMV, eligible basis) and negotiation a plus
- Advanced Excel skills required, including building macros and other advanced functionality
- Familiarity with debt and tax equity documentation principles
- Ability to manage debt and tax equity partner due diligence and closing process (experience managing third party consultants a plus)
- Experience in detailed financial modeling of tax equity and debt transactions and valuation of relevant companies and markets
- CFA member or be progressing towards completion of said designation (preferred)
- Strong passion and experience in renewable energy development
