Job Summary
Oversees and develops Camden City School District's security and safety programs, manages a network of school-based security officers, leads professional development and training, conducts regular field visits to ensure proper security procedures and drills, analyzes district-wide incident data to drive improvements, collaborates with police district commands, and supports Safe Corridors initiatives to ensure safe routes to and from schools. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, cross-functional collaboration, and ongoing communication with Principals, staff, and community partners to promote a safe learning environment for students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred from a State of New Jersey recognized accredited college or university
- At least 3 years of experience leading a team, preferably a team of security personnel in an urban high-traffic environment
- Significant security-related training and professional development in district/school emergency planning, conflict resolution and mediation, role modeling and ethics
- A valid driver's license, current insurance and vehicle with valid registration
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Preferred SORA Certificate or ability to obtain in 2 year period

- Residency in New Jersey required by state law for public school employees
