Job Summary
Lead technical ownership of client relationships from initial contact through solutioning, integration, and go-live stages. Support the Commercial Team to position Checkout.com's payment platform and win deals by running demos, building payment flows, creating POCs, and customizing presentations. Map merchant requirements to APIs and products, design solutions, and provide thought leadership on payment performance, fraud prevention, and tokenization. Lead all technical interactions with merchants, including chats, calls, meetings, and workshops, while collaborating with internal Technology and Business teams to champion product improvements. Assist the BID Management Team with RFP and RFI responses and relay market feedback to drive product change.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years experience as a Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect / Pre-Sales Consultant / Implementation Engineer or TAM
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) is desirable or equivalent practical experience in internet technologies and technical processes
- Experience working in a technical client-facing role
- Clear written and verbal English and Chinese
- Familiar with API based integration methods, associated best practices, and related tools/frameworks (REST/JSON APIs, Postman)
- Experience with at least one common front-end (pure JavaScript, React, Angular, etc) and back-end (Java, .NET, Python, Node, etc) technology
- Previous exposure to RFI/RFP
- Understanding of end-to-end payment flow
- Payments industry exposure with an understanding of the related rules and regulations and payments schemes
- Experience with 3DS, Network Tokenisation, Apple/Google Pay, Open Banking, or fraud‐risk engines
- Knowledge in iOS/Android
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and target-driven environment
- Ability to translate technical jargon into business speak
- Problem‐solver. Able to reproduce, isolate and explain issues using logs, API responses, and tests
- Highly organised and able to prioritise shifting workloads and responsibilities effectively
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external parties
- Held prior roles in E-commerce industry
