Job Summary
Manager responsible for leading Macy's Sales & Customer Service teams in a store setting, driving loyalty and customer experience, coaching staff, exceeding sales goals, and coordinating operations. Responsibilities include building an enthusiastic team, utilizing Sales and Star Rewards data to improve results, managing stockroom/signage/merchandising, supporting OMNI/Style/Asset Protection, conducting talent analysis and career progression plans, staffing and internal mobility, interviewing and hiring, training and developing direct and indirect reports, and maintaining a flexible retail schedule to cover days, evenings, holidays and weekends. Key skills include leadership and team building, customer service excellence, sales and performance management, analytical skills for data-driven improvement, operational management of selling support, cross-functional collaboration, talent development, conflict resolution, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft suite and handheld devices.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of management experience in retail
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (encouraged)
- High School diploma or equivalent (encouraged)
- Able to work a flexible retail schedule including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends
- Experience in coaching, performance management, and talent development
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, computers, and handheld devices
- Ability to interview, hire, train, coach, develop, coordinate, evaluate, and discipline staff
- Able to lift at least 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
