Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while scheduling, leading, and coordinating unit activities on assigned shifts. Direct and monitor nursing personnel to ensure adequate patient care, resolve operational issues, and complete monthly staff schedules with minimal short staffing. Build high-performing teams by recruiting staff, coaching personnel, and completing periodic evaluations. Establish standards of care, monitor critical processes through data audits, and develop strategies to improve patient and physician satisfaction. Manage overtime authorization and facilitate throughput through early discharge and timely admissions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
