Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while supervising nursing personnel and directing unit activities on the assigned shift. Build a high-performing clinical team by recruiting staff, completing periodic evaluations, and coaching or disciplining personnel as needed. Set goals for patient safety and quality, monitor critical processes through audits and incident reports, and resolve operational issues to maintain efficient throughput. Manage unit staffing by assessing personnel requirements, authorizing overtime, and completing the monthly staff schedule accurately.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
