Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while scheduling, leading, and overseeing the activities of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel on the day shift. Build a high-performing clinical team by recruiting skilled staff, coaching personnel, and managing attendance, while completing monthly unit schedules and authorizing overtime as needed. Monitor critical processes through audits and incident reports to ensure patient safety, quality outcomes, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Prevent care complications including nosocomial infections, facilitate throughput via early discharge and bed management, and coordinate emergency preparedness reviews. Collaborate with charge nurses, physicians, and department leaders to achieve unit goals and maintain a culture of open communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
