Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while scheduling, leading, and managing unit activities on the day shift. Direct personnel in care activities, complete periodic evaluations, and coach or discipline staff as needed. Build a high-performing team by recruiting, retaining skilled nurses, and developing action plans for clinical change. Monitor critical processes through audits, analyze data, and resolve operational issues to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes. Complete monthly staff schedules, authorize overtime, and facilitate throughput via early discharge and bed management. Located in Napa Valley at a 151-bed facility, this role supports Adventist Health's mission of whole person care. A Bachelor's degree in nursing and RN licensure are required, with a Master's degree and five years of technical experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
