Job Summary
Lead a 151-bed surgical unit by conducting daily rounds, coordinating staff activities, and managing monthly scheduling to ensure adequate coverage. Direct nursing and ancillary personnel in patient care activities while investigating operational issues and initiating team conferences to revise care plans. Build a high-performing team by recruiting staff, coaching individuals, and completing periodic evaluations. Establish standards of care, monitor critical processes through audits, and develop strategies to improve patient and physician satisfaction. Conduct emergency preparedness reviews and facilitate early discharge to maintain throughput.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
