Job Summary
Lead a 151-bed surgical unit by conducting daily rounds, coordinating patient care activities, and managing staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage. Direct nursing and ancillary personnel through performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline while establishing standards for patient safety and quality outcomes. Collaborate with physicians and department leaders to resolve operational issues, optimize bed throughput, and implement strategies for improved staff and family satisfaction. Build a high-performing team by recruiting skilled staff and engaging them in continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
