MANAGER - (RN) - FULL - TIME - DAY SHIFT

Job Summary
Manages nursing home staff and nursing activities, including resident care and record-keeping. Manages nursing staff assigned to a particular shift within the nursing home. Takes action regarding resources within the context of shifts or designated time frame. Assigns residents to available nursing staff, considering residents' condition and staff skill level. Measures employee performance. Assists in training of new staff and development of existing staff. Monitors resident care areas for cleanliness and readiness. Provides nursing care to residents as needed. Requires a Bachelor's degree in nursing; graduate from CCNE/ACEN/NLN CNEA preferred. For Rural Health Network facilities and Good Samaritan Society (GSS) only, educational-plan allowances may apply to attain a Bachelor’s degree within five years. Three years of nursing management experience; one year in long-term/subacute care. Licensure as RN in the practicing state or multi-state licensure under NLC. Strong knowledge of nursing practices, strategic planning, administrative and financial principles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Current unencumbered RN license in the state where practice occurs or multi-state licensure if NLC state
- Three years of nursing management experience (one year in long-term/subacute care)
- Thorough knowledge of nursing practice act and standards of nursing care
- Ability to train and develop staff
- Knowledge of administrative and financial principles
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA) with potential educational plan if degree not possessed for Rural Health Network facilities and GSS locations
