Job Summary
Lead a 151-bed hospital outpatient surgery unit by scheduling daily activities, conducting physician rounds, and coordinating care plans for patients and families. Build a high-performing clinical team through recruitment, retention, and periodic evaluations while establishing standards of care and monitoring critical outcomes via audits and incident reports. Direct personnel in patient care activities, resolve operational issues, manage overtime and staffing schedules, and facilitate throughput through early discharge and bed management. Prevent care complications, conduct emergency preparedness reviews, and collaborate with leadership to achieve unit goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
