Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while directing and monitoring nursing activities to ensure quality and safety. Build a high-performing team by recruiting skilled personnel, coaching staff, and completing periodic evaluations. Establish standards of care, monitor critical processes through data audits, and resolve operational issues to improve patient and physician satisfaction. Manage unit staffing by assessing personnel needs, authorizing overtime, and completing monthly schedules to prevent short staffing. Facilitate throughput through early discharges and bed management, while conducting emergency preparedness reviews. Maintain a highly visible presence on the unit to support front-line nurses and ancillary staff in delivering safe, complication-free care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
