Manager, Revenue Accounting

Job Summary

Support and enforce accounting policies and internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance for revenue recognition and patient accounting processes. Build, maintain, and reconcile allowance models segmented by payor class, while managing collection waterfalls and performing variance analysis against reported financials. Develop dashboards and trend reporting to monitor models, identify changes proactively, and prepare journal entries, balance sheet, and P&L reconciliations monthly. Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, manage audit requests, and illustrate accounting methods to leadership and operations. Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management, IT, and FP&A teams to align practice management systems with the general ledger and drive system improvements. Requires 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including healthcare revenue cycle knowledge, with flexibility for onboarding travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience
  • at least 1-2 years in a healthcare or dental revenue cycle environment
  • proficient understanding of revenue recognition in accordance with company and accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, CECL/ASC 310)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • ability to leverage data tools and technology to drive process improvements
  • Proficiency with tools such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, and SQL/databases
  • Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, manage projects and competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with fee schedules, UCR rates, and how contractual rates flow into contractual and discretionary adjustments
  • Experience with practice management systems and revenue cycle management processes
  • Must be able to travel for onboarding and other needs

Desired Qualifications

  • CPA preferred
  • Prior experience at a Big 4 or regional firm with healthcare clients is a differentiator
