Job Summary
Manager Regulatory System Design leads a high-performing System Design team to shape New Zealand’s land transport regulatory system. Responsibilities include leading complex system design and the identification and design of system-level regulatory interventions; using data, insights and risk-based analysis to understand system performance, prioritise interventions, and guide decision-making; providing strategic leadership and expert advice to influence regulatory practice across the organisation and wider system. The role emphasizes collaboration, systems thinking, evidence-based practice, continuous improvement, and knowledge of Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the public sector. Salary range NZD 160,000–195,000, fixed term or inter-agency secondment until early February 2027; Wellington preferred. Flexible working arrangements are offered.
