Manager Regional Trade Compliance

Job Summary

Develop and execute risk assessments of Export Control and Trade compliance programs to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures. Collaborate with in-region Business Divisions, Compliance teams, and Legal teams to provide strategic and operational support for global trade management. Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, while providing training on government laws and regulations. Proactively monitor, manage, and mitigate risks through stakeholder engagement, and assist with developing compliance strategies aligned with company objectives. Effectively communicate insights, progress, and recommendations across the organization. This role serves as a trusted business partner within Caterpillar's Trade Center of Excellence, translating regulatory requirements into practical business solutions to enable strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years' experience with trade compliance or a related field
  • Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade
  • Knowledge of relationship and stakeholder management techniques
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems
  • Understanding effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques
  • Ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with various stakeholders, peers within the division and across Caterpillar
  • Ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Ability to collaborate vertically and horizontally, across levels and various business functions, and with external parties
  • Ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations

  • Experience building, implementing, or enhancing compliance programs and operational controls in a multi-national business environment
