Job Summary

Oversee employment of personnel, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws while managing interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions for assigned property sites. Coordinate general administration and operations to maintain safe, sanitary housing and financially viable programs, conducting on-site inspections and managing resident selection, leasing, and waiting lists in accordance with HUD policies. Formulate and analyze data for management reviews, rent increases, and fund requests, while supervising staff in preventative maintenance and social program development. Submit weekly written reports to the Director and address resident relations and complaints in conjunction with on-site managers. Maintain confidentiality of client information and reflect the agency's commitment to dignity and respect across all interactions.

Required Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of HUD, CHFA and other affordable housing requirements
  • Solid knowledge of Fair Housing Laws so that policies and actions are administered in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws
  • Ability to oversee and supervise the work of others
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, both in a leadership and supportive role
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms with a diverse population
  • The education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related work experience with at least one year of supervisory experience in a housing environment
  • Certification as a Certified Property Manager (CPM) preferred and may be required within twelve months of employment
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment to include a computer and peripherals, printer, photocopier, phone, facsimile, etc.
  • Licensed ability to drive a vehicle and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work in a general office environment
  • Knowledge of the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university
  • two to four years related experience and/or training
