Job Summary
Lead Portsmouth Site-wide Records Custodian duties by managing records across multiple media formats, including legacy data, and serving as the primary escalation point for complex records management issues. Oversee capture, indexing, classification, and disposition of controlled documents, drawings, and submittals while ensuring compliance with federal, DOE, and NARA regulations. Supervise a team of RMDC personnel, assign priorities, provide technical coaching, and support hiring and training initiatives. Manage the Environmental Information Center operations, including the Public Reading Room and website, and perform photography, videography, or graphic design tasks as required. Serve as the liaison to project teams, QA, engineering, and government customers to ensure high-quality service and accurate configuration status accounting.
Required Qualifications
- 15-20 years of combined supervisory and relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of records management principles, configuration control, and document control practices
- Experience working with electronic document and records management systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in regulated environments
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to analyze requirements and make sound decisions on records management issues
- Records management training from the National Archives and Records Administration
- Proficiency in EDMS (Documentum/Gimmal), MS Office applications, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Paper Capture
- Must pass pre-employment background check
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing
- Must be able to travel occasionally for verification of Records destructions
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE 'Q' Level Clearance
- Proof of citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to perform photography, videography and graphic design preferred
- Experience supporting DOE sites or other federally regulated programs
- Familiarity with NARA requirements and federal records schedules
- Professional certification (e.g., NARA, Certified Records Manager [CRM], or equivalent)
- Experience supporting audits, assessments, or corrective action programs
