Job Summary
Manager, Receiving & Inventory Control at Novo Nordisk's Clayton, NC facility leads the Receiving and Inventory Control teams, overseeing receipts of incoming materials, scheduling with couriers/transport, and development of department procedures per cGMPs. The role focuses on timeliness, accuracy, continuous improvement, LEAN initiatives, and KPI tracking, including annual cycle counts and collaboration with internal/external customers. The position requires supervising direct reports, supporting product transfers and launches, applying LEAN/Production System elements (NNWay), and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Strong leadership, ERP/MRP (SAP) experience, Kanban/LEAN expertise, and ability to drive process improvements are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field of study from an accredited university required
- May consider an Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field of study from an accredited university with a minimum seven(7) years of increasingly progressive warehouse/production support experience (Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control) required
- May consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of nine (9) years of increasingly progressive warehouse/production support experience (Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control) required
- Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly progressive warehouse/production support experience (Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control) required
- Minimum of three (3) years of production/production support supervisory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry required
- Project management experience preferred
- Proven process improvement & problem-solving skills preferred
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills; good presentation skills required
- Experience with ERP/MRP (SAP) systems required
- Proven process improvement & problem-solving skills preferred, Green Belt certification a plus
- Kanban / LEAN manufacturing experience preferred
- cGMP & FDA regulations knowledge preferred
- Ability to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets required
