Job Summary
Lead the day-to-day department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and performance targets and KPIs are met. Responsibilities include ordering and maintaining inventory, reviewing received orders for amount/quality/weight, supervising a team to complete stocking and production tasks, managing product freshness and rotation, maintaining familiarity with all products, promoting advertised items and store promotions, communicating and executing flight plans, managing scheduling, labor control, overtime, and payroll expenses, implementing company policies, and developing department goals and staff. Ensure compliance with food safety and general safety guidelines, take corrective action as needed, and contribute to meeting company goals. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Depending on location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
