Job Summary
The Quarry & Raw Materials Manager is responsible for oversight of all Glen-Gery quarries, ensuring compliance with mining laws and safety regulations, and managing the acquisition of raw materials. Key responsibilities include proving existing and prospective raw material reserves, maintaining zoning permissions, and coordinating with plant managers to ensure quality and cost-effective extraction methods. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, or earth science, along with experience in quarry operations. The manager will assist in quality control, product development, and reclamation planning, creating a supportive work atmosphere and conducting employee training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geology, or earth science
- 1-2 years related experience in quarry management or similar fields
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting regulations and technical procedures
- Ability to write business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Mathematical proficiency for operational cost calculations
