Job Summary
Manager, Quality Assurance for Firehouse Subs in US&C, based in Jacksonville, FL. Leads QA activities across North America for Firehouse Foods, developing and enforcing product safety and quality control programs, monitoring supplier quality, and supporting product commercialization. Responsible for audits (third-party and internal), maintaining QA documents and specifications, analyzing consumer and restaurant feedback, presenting performance data to senior management, overseeing vendor teams, and advising on crisis-related safety actions. Supports regulatory compliance with agencies such as CFIA, USDA, FSIS, and FDA; reviews nutritional information to align with brand policies; conducts root-cause analyses and drives continuous improvement across the supplier base; collaborates with Product Innovation and Senior Management on new product launches and quality initiatives; requires strong communication and cross-functional collaboration and ability to travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Sciences or related field
- 4 to 6 years of progressive work experience in related area, preferably in a large restaurant or hospitality chain
- Foundation in and knowledge of food science and food safety principles, included but not limited to HACCP
- Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Knowledge of HACCP to monitor supplier food safety/good manufacturing practices
- Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and processes to monitor supplier performance standards
- Ability to travel (within a designated budget)
