Job Summary
Develop and document product quality checks, frequencies, methods, and procedures for warehousing operations. Deliver continuous training and support on the Quality Management System, principles, and methodologies. Oversee system performance, monitor internal compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the network. Assist with third-party audit preparations and manage corrective action plans. Maintain and develop quality system planning programs, including HACCP, SQF, and Food Defense plans. Manage applicable licensing and registrations for pharmaceutical, food, and other regulatory requirements. This role reports to the VP, Safety, Security and Compliance, leading the implementation of quality governance for regulated industries like food and healthcare. The position requires a hybrid schedule with four days of on-site presence in Des Plaines, IL, and includes up to 30% travel. Base salary ranges from $124,000 to $135,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or 5 years of equivalent professional experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in an operations environment, with practical experience in food manufacturing, supply chain management, or related quality systems fields
- Proven experience managing small teams and leading through influence
- Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, cGMPs, FSMA, sanitation programs, pest control, internal audits, QA Management Systems, and FDA, USDA, and state quality requirements
- Excellent analytical, project management, time management, and organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills with management, colleagues, and internal and external customers
- Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 30% of the time to facilities across the network
- Ability to work in a hybrid setting, balancing desk work with active site walkthroughs
- Must be capable of wearing required PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, high-visibility vests) and working around varying temperatures, loud noises, and industrial equipment traffic
