Job Summary
Public Relations Manager will partner with senior leadership to design and execute integrated communications strategies that strengthen organizational reputation, advance public policy priorities, and elevate brand credibility. The role serves as a primary spokesperson, leads media relations and crisis communications, develops executive messaging and talking points, and measures PR effectiveness using analytics and KPIs. Collaboration with marketing, government affairs, legal, and senior leadership is required to ensure consistent messaging and integrated execution; responsibilities include creating press materials, managing external agencies, and supporting budgeting for communications initiatives. The position is hybrid (onsite Cincinnati 3 days/week) and requires a confident public speaker with experience in media relations, crisis management, and executive-level communications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Affairs, or a related field; advanced education or professional certification (e.g., APR) preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in public relations, strategic communications, or public affairs, with demonstrated ownership of communications strategy
- Proven experience in media relations, issues management, and executive-level communications
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Experience supporting or leading crisis communications and reputational risk mitigation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; confident public speaker
- Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional partners
- Proficiency with digital, social, and earned media channels as part of an integrated communications strategy
- Familiarity with government, regulatory, or public policy environments preferred
- Advanced proficiency in standard business tools and communications technologies
