Job Summary
Lead the project engineering effort for nuclear generating stations on-site in Richland, WA. Manage engineering and design activities to modify and upgrade existing nuclear power plants, including general plant upgrades, component replacements, and electric power uprates, in coordination with clients, partners, and a multidisciplinary team within EPC project scopes. Provide engineering management and guidance to subordinate staff, plan and manage activities to ensure successful project execution while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget, supervise and delegate tasks, monitor day-to-day activities, anticipate and mitigate issues, leverage resources across groups, ensure alignment with contract requirements, and act as the responsible professional engineer (PE) in the state where work is based. Actively manages engineering schedule and cost performance and supports formal status reporting and presentations to clients and management.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Engineering Degree from an accredited university
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in any state with ability to be licensed in other States by Comity
- Minimum 12 years of experience working with nuclear plant engineering and design
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership position or supervisory capacity
- Experience working with others in a Project Team environment
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment
- Basic understanding of project performance metrics (PI and SPI)
- Field experience, and ability to perform site walk-downs
Desired Qualifications
- B.S. Engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum 12 years of nuclear plant engineering and design experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Site walk-down experience
- Ability to obtain/hold U.S. citizenship for access to nuclear facilities
- Experience with Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects
- Experience with electric power uprates (preferred)
