Manager, Project Development – Grid Solutions & Early-Stage Engineering

Job Summary
Lead technical evaluation and early-stage development for utility-class natural gas-fired power generation projects, including simple-cycle combustion turbines and combined-cycle plants. Conduct grid topology analyses to evaluate network configurations, identify single points of failure, and recommend resiliency improvements such as looped feeds and microgrid islanding capabilities. Develop Class 3–5 conceptual cost estimates, manage project schedules and budgets, and prepare technology comparison matrices to support go/no-go decisions. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external consultants to advance projects through permitting and handoff to construction management. Work 25% of the time in hybrid or remote settings with heavy travel to customer meetings and project sites.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 (ten) years of experience in utility-class electrical infrastructure development, engineering, or project management
- demonstrated hands-on experience in interconnection analysis
- demonstrated hands-on experience in grid topology
- demonstrated hands-on experience in system resiliency design
- demonstrated hands-on experience in technology selection
- demonstrated hands-on experience in cost estimating
- demonstrated hands-on experience in early-stage project scheduling
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Thorough familiarity with high-voltage electrical infrastructure including transmission, substation, distribution, generation, and storage systems
- working knowledge of ERCOT and other RTO/ISO interconnection processes
- working knowledge of grid codes
- working knowledge of applicable standards (IEEE, NERC, NESC)

- Strong working knowledge of thermal generation plant systems including fuel handling, combustion, emissions controls (SCR, oxidation catalyst, DLN combustors), cooling water, and auxiliary electrical systems

Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineering licensing or ability to obtain
