Job Summary
Manager – Process and Mechanical Design leads a team of engineers and designers responsible for the design and CAD modeling of custom industrial water and process equipment. Establishes expectations, mentors and develops staff, prioritizes workloads, and ensures design deliverables are accurate, high-quality, and on schedule to support procurement, fabrication, assembly, and project deadlines. Drives continuous improvement, collaborates across Project Management, Applications, Procurement, Production, and other departments, ensures compliance with customer specifications, codes, and internal engineering practices, tracks progress, manages risks, and provides regular performance reporting to senior leadership. Role involves periodic travel to various company locations for meetings, training, and collaboration; emphasizes safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, with a leadership focus on developing team capabilities and maintaining project schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
- Ten (10) or more years of experience leading, supervising, or managing engineering and/or design teams
- Strong proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and Product Data Management (PDM) systems
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation
- Strong project management, organizational, and delegation skills
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, project management, procurement, and production teams
- Ability to work from the St. Michael office and travel to Chanhassen ~weekly

- Engineering standards and best practices
- Experience in custom equipment manufacturing, industrial water treatment, or process systems
- Experience with Gibbs and Microsoft Visio
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams
