Job Summary
Lead the organisation's privacy, information access, records governance, and data breach management functions, ensuring compliance with NSW legislation and best practice standards. Provide expert advice on privacy and information governance matters, oversee data breach processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives supporting effective risk management and organisational integrity. Influence the structure of the team and implement the Privacy Uplift Roadmap within Legal & Compliance. This role reports to the General Counsel - Executive Director, Legal and Compliance. The NSW Reconstruction Authority improves disaster planning and recovery for NSW communities.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading privacy, information governance, GIPA and records management programs within a complex and highly regulated environment
- Extensive knowledge of NSW privacy, information access and records management legislation, governance frameworks and public sector accountability requirements
- Proven expertise in data privacy, data breach management, information access processes and records governance practices
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, advise and build organisational capability at all levels
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide sound, evidence-based advice and manage sensitive, high-risk matters with confidence and integrity
- Tertiary qualifications in a legal, risk, privacy, information governance or a related discipline or equivalent experience in a relevant field
