Job Summary
Manager, People & Culture role overseeing HR operations for a remote US-based team. Responsibilities include recruitment and onboarding guidance, job description alignment, benefits administration (US-based), HRIS/BambooHR management, payroll updates, employee relations, open enrollment, offboarding, data analytics for retention, staff development, performance reviews, and culture initiatives. Requires strong operational HR experience, comfort working across time zones, and a values-driven approach to people practices. Travel internationally ~2 weeks/year. Compensation: $97,000 USD annually. Location is remote with US-based eligibility; visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not provided.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of HR experience in nonprofit or philanthropic organizations with a track record of progressive responsibilities
- Experience supporting U.S.-based employees including administration of benefits, open enrollment, qualifying life events, and coordination with external benefits brokers/providers
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with U.S. employment practices and HR compliance requirements
- SHRM certification is an asset
- Ability to travel internationally (approximately 2 weeks/year) and work across multiple time zones
- Demonstrated ability to work in a remote, globally distributed team
- Strong judgment, discretion, and trustworthy interpersonal skills
- English fluency; additional languages are a plus
- Experience with HRIS (preferably BambooHR) and payroll/benefits workflows
- Experience with project management tools (preferably Asana)
- Proven ability to implement systems/process improvements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
