Job Summary
Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for US, Canada, EU, and India populations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing across all employee groups. Establish and continuously improve payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls while managing two site-based team members in a dotted line capacity. Lead payroll tax filings, reconciliations, audits, and responses to tax authority inquiries, maintaining a strong control environment to support SOX compliance and audit readiness. Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and vendors to support compensation actions, benefit deductions, equity programs, and system enhancements. This hybrid role requires three days in Princeton, NJ, with a base salary of $125,000-150,000 plus incentives. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Accounting, Finance, Business, HR, etc.)
- 8+ years of experience (or equivalent education substitution) in payroll/HR operations or related field within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences company, with leadership responsibility
- Experience working with payroll (e.g. ADP WorkforceNow, Deel, etc.) and HRIS (e.g. Oracle Fusion HCM, etc.) systems, data analytics tools
- Deep understanding of multi-state tax compliance audits (SOX, 401k, etc.), and process ownership
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop others either directly or in a dotted line capacity
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong project management and organizational abilities, capable of supporting multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data visualization tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- High integrity, professional judgment, and commitment to confidentiality
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated, and dynamic environment
