Job Summary
Oak Street Health seeks a Manager, Payer Partnerships and Contracting to own partnerships with national and regional Medicare Advantage health plans, manage contract negotiations and implementation, and drive value-based care operations. The role collaborates across executives, clinical, finance, data, population health, legal, and field leaders to ensure successful contract implementations, monitor performance, and communicate risks and opportunities to senior leadership. Primary responsibilities include negotiating and managing complex value-based contracts, resolving operational issues with urgency, and guiding cross-functional teams to sustain strong payer relationships and performance.
Required Qualifications
- 4-5+ years of experience managing payer-provider relationships and leading value-based contracting and operations
- Proven success negotiating and managing value-based contracts
- Strong financial and analytical acumen, including experience evaluating contract economics and monitoring performance
- Demonstrated understanding of Medicare Advantage operations, including Stars performance optimization and membership attribution
- Experience with payer-provider data-sharing frameworks, provider roster management and credentialing processes
- Contract management systems and reporting tools
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with executive presence
- Outstanding project management skills; ability to independently drive complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel for occasional in-person payer and team meetings
