Job Summary
Manager, OU Buying Directs EU responsible for strategy execution and sourcing activities for packaging, capital, and facilities within EU. Partners with global category teams, represents local business needs to drive value, manages spend (~£20m+), leads tendering and contracting, ensures sustainability/diversity objectives, and builds strong relationships with regional stakeholders and suppliers. Operates in a hybrid model with flexibility for remote work and on-site collaboration at Haleon’s Nyon site.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or Marketing
- 3+ years of operational Procurement experience
- Knowledge of procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review
- Demonstrated expertise in managing categories, particularly category strategy development and implementation
- Strong knowledge of finance (cost benchmarking, financial audit with key suppliers) and legal matters (contracting)
- Clear understanding of business value, priorities, and risks
- Strong networking skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across multiple projects using project management skills
- Experience in a matrix global/regional environment
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment with tight deadlines
- Experience with risk management and supplier performance management
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or Marketing
- 3+ years of operational Procurement experience
- Experience with category strategy development and implementation
- Knowledge of procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review
- Strong networking, written and verbal communications, and influencing skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across projects using project management skills
- Experience working in a matrix (global/regional) business environment
- Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and business partners
- Knowledge of finance (cost benchmarking, financial audit with key suppliers) and contracting
- Experience with risk management and supplier relationship management
- Strong analytical capabilities and ability to drive value through procurement strategies
- Comfort with hybrid/remote working arrangements
- Experience leading tendering activities, contracting, and supplier management
- Focus on sustainability and diversity objectives in regional sourcing
- Ability to partner with local stakeholders to represent business needs in EU regions
- Budget/benefit delivery accountability within Procurement Plan and Savings Methodology
- Experience with supplier performance management and KPI tracking
- Proven ability to develop and implement regional/local supplier strategies
- Negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience managing packaging, capital, or facilities spend in EU
- Fluency in English; additional European languages a plus
- Understanding of Haleon’s category management framework and governance
