Job Summary
Lead an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering team, providing mentorship and managing vendor activities to ensure projects meet quality standards, safety protocols, and budget constraints. Oversee engineering work orders, coordinate permitting with municipalities and utilities, and develop project schedules with contractors and internal stakeholders. Verify contractor invoices, manage capital budgets, and maintain compliance with NESC and municipal requirements while collaborating across departments. Requires eight years of OSP experience, leadership skills, and proficiency with fiber documentation tools. Full-time role with quarterly performance bonuses; overnight travel occasionally required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of eight (8) years of outside plant (OSP) experience, including quoting, permitting and other pre-construction activities
- Developed leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others
- Experience using fiber optic network documentation tools
- Advanced understanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties, and pole owners
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record
- Must complete a pre-employment drug screening
- Experience managing capital budgets
- Must be currently authorized to work in the US for any employer
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
