Job Summary
Oversee daily service center execution across pickup, delivery, dock operations, and linehaul while managing key financial drivers and labor expenses. Monitor performance metrics to drive cost control and efficiency, implementing corrective actions for throughput improvements. Lead high-performing teams through hiring, training, and structured feedback to ensure alignment with department goals and operational targets. Ensure regulatory compliance by partnering with contractors on safety standards and responding to government inquiries while safeguarding sensitive business information. Collaborate with corporate and sales teams to resolve escalated issues and strengthen cross-functional coordination. This mission-critical leadership role maintains network integrity and enables Roadrunner's industry-leading service performance within its metro-to-metro model.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 4–5 years of operations management experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field
- Proven experience leading multi-functional operational teams in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
- Strong financial and operational acumen, including experience managing labor, revenue components, and performance metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and general business systems
- AS/400 experience
- Solid understanding of transportation operations including linehaul, dock, and pickup/delivery workflows
- HazMat certification
- Forklift qualification
- Ability to obtain HazMat certification or forklift qualification
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels, including corporate stakeholders and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, interpret regulations, and apply logical problem-solving in complex situations
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple operational demands simultaneously
- Ability to lift objects up to 100 lbs
Desired Qualifications
